Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that bringing people from Afghanistan and settling them in Pakistan proved to be a serious mistake, while the release of hundreds of terrorists from Swat also turned out to be a major failure.
Addressing participants from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during a national workshop, the prime minister said Afghanistan must now decide whether it wants to live peacefully in the region. He warned that Pakistan will not allow anyone, in collaboration with its enemies, to spread poison against the country.
He said the entire nation will not rest until the complete elimination of “khawarij” (terrorists), adding that national security remains the top priority of the current government.
The prime minister pointed out that the level of development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is not what it should have been. He stressed that Pakistan’s progress cannot be considered genuine if only Punjab develops while other provinces lag behind.
Talking about India, Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan humbled India’s arrogance in May. He stated that under the leadership of the field marshal, the armed forces of Pakistan taught the enemy a lesson it would never forget.

He said India carried out aggression against Pakistan, to which Pakistan responded by exercising its right to self-defence. During the response, Pakistan shot down seven enemy aircraft, he claimed.
The prime minister reiterated that Pakistan has always given priority to peace but made it clear that there would be no compromise on the country’s sovereignty and security.
Separately, it was mentioned that former US president Donald Trump has invited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to join the Gaza Board of Peace, highlighting Pakistan’s role in promoting peace at the international level.
