The official YouTube channel of the National Assembly has disappeared, and parliamentary proceedings have not been broadcast on the video platform for the past few days.
Earlier, sessions of the lower house were streamed live on the channel. Recently, however, no proceedings have appeared on the official link. At the same time, National Assembly sessions have also not been aired on state television.
Opposition members claim the government is deliberately blocking coverage of parliamentary proceedings. They argue the move is meant to silence debate and reduce public access to lawmaking.

National Assembly officials rejected the allegations and said the YouTube channel is down due to a technical fault. They insisted there is no intention to censor parliament.

The issue surfaced as a joint session of parliament was held after being summoned by President Asif Ali Zardari. During the sitting, lawmakers passed three bills that had earlier been returned by the president without signature.
The bills approved include the National Commission for Human Rights Amendment Bill, 2025, the Daanish Schools Authority Bill, 2025, and the Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Bill, 2025.
President Zardari had sent the bills back last month despite their approval by both the Senate and the National Assembly, according to a statement from the Presidency.
