Officials say Lahore’s first-ever floating restaurant is expected to open to the public later this year. Construction work is now close to completion, with teams focusing on finishing and safety checks.
The three-storey floating structure is being built on a canal branching from the River Ravi, near Jallo Park. Project managers say civil and construction work is moving fast, and the goal is to complete everything before year-end, subject to final inspections.

Once opened, the restaurant will be able to host more than 200 guests at a time. It is designed to offer a unique waterfront dining experience, something never seen before in the city.
Officials say the venue will be family-friendly, allowing visitors to enjoy meals along with calm views of the canal. The design includes indoor seating as well as open-air spaces across multiple levels.
To safely support the floating structure, the canal is being deepened and reinforced. Sand and silt are being cleared from the canal bed to ensure proper depth and long-term stability.
Project teams say work is continuing day and night. Structural, mechanical, and finishing tasks are being carried out at the same time to meet the planned opening timeline.

Beyond food, the site will offer dedicated parking, basic facilities such as restrooms and lighting, and a wide range of quality food options.
