Near Kartarpur in Shakargarh, a young man caught an unusually large fish from the Ravi River, leaving everyone amazed. The giant fish reportedly weighs around 65 kilograms, far heavier than fish normally found in the river.
The fisherman, identified as Arif, is a hobby angler who often visits the riverbank to fish. He said that while fishing early in the morning as usual, he suddenly felt an unusually strong pull on his hook. After a long struggle, he managed to pull the fish out of the water—and was shocked by its massive size himself. Arif said the fish belongs to a good breed and has a unique feature: it has only one hook-like fin, which makes it different from other species.
After catching the giant fish, Arif brought it to the Shakargarh fish market to sell it. As the news spread, a large crowd gathered at the market. People were seen taking photos and recording videos, with many saying they had never seen such a huge fish from the Ravi River before.

During the auction at the fish market, the bid for the fish has so far reached Rs 90,000. Arif said he does not want to sell it cheaply and will only consider selling if the price reaches Rs 100,000. He added that such a large and high-quality fish is rarely caught, so it deserves a fair price.

Local fishermen and elderly residents said that while large fish are occasionally found in the Ravi River, a giant fish of this size is extremely rare. They added that river pollution and water shortages in recent years have reduced fish populations, making this catch both surprising and joyful for the community.
