Karachi approves Rs4.2 billion for major road projects

LAHORE (Web Desk): Karachi approves Rs4.2 billion to upgrade four major roads, aiming to improve traffic flow, fix sewerage problems, and add green belts across key routes.

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has approved a large development plan worth Rs4.2 billion to repair and beautify four important roads in the city. These roads are used daily by thousands of commuters.

Mayor Murtaza Wahab approved the project during a meeting at the KMC head office. The plan includes Rashid Minhas Road, S.M. Taufique Road, Sir Shah Suleman Road, and Pehalwan Goth Road, all known as major traffic corridors.

According to officials, Rs1,120,000,000 will be spent on Rashid Minhas Road, Rs429,000,000 on S.M. Taufique Road, Rs574,000,000 on Sir Shah Suleman Road, and Rs1,900,000,000 on Pehalwan Goth Road.

The project will cover complete road rehabilitation, fixing long-standing sewerage issues, improving lane markings, and redesigning traffic layouts to reduce congestion. Green belts will also be developed to enhance the look of these roads.

Mayor Wahab has instructed KMC officials to issue tenders immediately so work can begin without delay and the project can be completed on time.
