(Web Desk): Jemima Khan has requested Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to allow sons Qasim and Suleman to visit Pakistan and meet their father Imran Khan in jail.

Jemima Khan, former wife of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf founder and former prime minister Imran Khan, has appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to allow their sons to meet their father.

She shared the request in a message posted on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Jemima Khan said her sons, Suleman Khan and Qasim Khan, had applied again for Pakistani visas in January so they could travel to Pakistan and meet Imran Khan.

According to her statement, the Pakistani consulate normally processes online visa applications within seven to ten working days.

However, she said more than 60 days have passed since the application was submitted, yet the visas have still not been issued.

Jemima Khan also claimed that Defence Minister Khawaja Asif had earlier promised that the two sons would be allowed to meet their father.

She said the promise has not been fulfilled so far.

In her message, Jemima Khan further stated that Qasim and Suleman are not even allowed to speak to their father on the phone or send him letters.

She added that the two brothers have not seen their father since the assassination attempt on Imran Khan in 2022.

Jemima Khan directly appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, asking him to allow the two sons to meet their father as soon as possible.

She said the meeting is especially important because reports suggest that Imran Khan’s health may be deteriorating.

The appeal has drawn public attention because it involves a personal family matter linked to a major political leader.  If the visas are approved, the meeting could reduce tensions around the issue.

However, if delays continue, the matter may become a bigger political and humanitarian debate.
