Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has officially announced the last dates related to Umrah visas and the departure of pilgrims from the Kingdom.
According to the ministry, the final day for issuing Umrah visas will be the first day of Shawwal. Pilgrims who receive visas must enter Saudi Arabia before 15 Shawwal.
Authorities further clarified that all Umrah pilgrims will have to leave the Kingdom before the first day of Dhul Qadah. These rules are part of the annual arrangements to manage the transition between the Umrah and Hajj seasons.

The decision was shared during the ministry’s 17th consecutive virtual meeting with Saudi Umrah companies. Officials stressed the importance of strictly following all regulations for both Umrah and Hajj seasons.
During the meeting, authorities also reminded companies that performing Hajj requires a proper Hajj visa. Pilgrims cannot perform Hajj using an Umrah visa under any circumstances.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs said preparations for Hajj 2026 are moving forward according to schedule despite the global situation.
The issuance of Hajj visas for Pakistani pilgrims is continuing at a fast pace. Officials also confirmed that the Hajj flight schedule will be announced after Eid al Fitr.
Arrangements for accommodation and other facilities for pilgrims in Makkah and Madinah are also being finalized to ensure a smooth experience for travelers.
Authorities advised pilgrims to rely only on verified information. They were encouraged to use the “Pak Hajj App” or visit the official website of the Ministry of Religious Affairs for authentic updates about Hajj arrangements.
The federal cabinet has also introduced a significant change in the distribution of the Hajj quota this year.

Under Hajj Policy 2026, the quota for the government Hajj scheme has been increased to 70 percent, while private Hajj tour operators will receive 30 percent of the quota.
Last year in 2025, Pakistan’s total Hajj quota was 179,210 and it was equally divided between government and private sectors.
In 2025, more than 67,000 Pakistani pilgrims could not perform Hajj due to administrative problems and mismanagement.
Officials say the new policy aims to improve transparency, strengthen monitoring and make the Hajj process easier for pilgrims under the government scheme.
