This system will track fuel use digitally at all petrol pumps. Preparations for the system are complete, and authorities are finalizing its rollout. Dedicated mobile devices will monitor fuel distribution at stations across the country.
The Ministry of IT has completed testing of smartphones to be deployed at fuel stations. The National IT Board (NITB) verified the devices’ quality and operational performance.

The fuel management application has also been tested and shared with the Cabinet Division. This ensures that all systems are ready for proper implementation.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has instructed oil marketing companies to procure the devices. Each handset is estimated to cost around Rs36,000 and will be financed by the companies.
The NITB will handle procurement and distribute the devices to the fuel stations. Officials said this will help monitor fuel use strictly.
The system will enforce fuel quotas, preventing citizens from buying more than their assigned limit. Citizens will use a mobile application developed by the Pakistan Digital Authority to access their quota.
Authorities say the initiative aims to ensure fair and transparent fuel distribution. It will also prevent misuse and strengthen monitoring systems across the country.
