Deadly attack on MPA’s camp in Toba Tek Singh shocks region
A deadly shooting incident at the camp of a provincial assembly member has spread panic in Toba Tek Singh, where unidentified armed men opened fire, killing four people and critically injuring the lawmaker.
The attack targeted the camp of Member Provincial Assembly Ayub Gadhi, who was present at the site when the incident occurred. According to initial reports, the assailants arrived suddenly and sprayed bullets, causing chaos and panic among those present.
As a result of the firing, Ayub Gadhi sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital in critical condition. Four of his close associates, identified as Khaliq Dad Baloch, Zigham, Haq Nawaz and another companion, were killed on the spot. Two others were also injured in the attack.
Rescue teams quickly reached the scene and shifted the dead bodies and injured persons to District Headquarters Hospital Toba Tek Singh, where emergency was declared. Doctors said the condition of the injured MPA remains critical, and he is under close medical supervision.
Police officials said the attackers managed to escape after the incident. A search operation has been launched, with multiple checkpoints established across the area to trace the suspects. Investigators are collecting evidence from the crime scene to determine the motive behind the attack.
The incident has sparked fear and concern among local residents as well as political and social circles, with calls for stronger security measures for public representatives.
Authorities have assured that all resources are being used to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice.
