According to details, in view of the rising electricity prices and the promotion of clean energy, the Sindh government has announced to provide free solar systems for domestic consumers consuming up to 100 units of electricity per month. This initiative has been introduced by the Sindh Energy Department, which aims to relieve low-income families from heavy electricity bills.

Under the scheme, eligible households can apply for free solar panels by August 20, 2025. According to sources, more than 123,000 applications have been received from across the province so far.

Officials say that if the number of applicants exceeds the available quota, beneficiaries will be selected through a transparent lottery. The program is part of the provincial government s broader policy aimed at reducing dependence on the national grid, reducing energy costs and promoting the use of renewable energy.

Citizens who meet the relevant criteria are urged to take advantage of this facility by submitting their applications before the due date.
