(Web Desk): Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has launched 'Apna Meter Apni Reading' smart app to make electricity billing system more transparent.

IESCO Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Naeem Jan made the announcement on Friday that a fresh smart initiative named  Apna Meter Apni Reading  has been launched. Under ongoing power sector reforms, IESCO has launched the Power Smart Application through which consumers can directly take part in electricity billing.

Supported by the government and Ministry of Energy (Power Division), this initiative is intended to meet consumer concerns more effectively while guaranteeing the supply of cheap electricity.

As per Jan, the new mobile app empowers consumers to capture and report their own electricity meter readings on a given date every month. The system is likely to ensure timely and transparent billing free from common problems of delays and errors involved in manual meter reading.
