Sindh extends deadline for computerized number plates

KARACHI (Web Desk): The date for making computerized vehicle number plates in Sindh has been extended.

Sindh Excise Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla announced an extension of the date for making number plates till August 14 and said that there will be no challans due to old number plates until August 14.

He said that the people of the province should transfer all vehicles to their names and obtain computerized number plates before August 14.

He also reiterated that modern number plates integrated with the Safe City project are mandatory for all vehicles.

Earlier, concerns were raised about the design and legality of Ajrak-themed plates introduced as part of the province’s cultural branding.

It should be noted that new number plates have been issued for 2 million vehicles, including 1.2 million motorcycles.
