
A high-level meeting of the third special committee under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme Phase 4 was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Program Rana Mashhood. Other important federal ministers also participated in the meeting, including Federal Minister for Public Affairs Rana Mubashir Iqbal and Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.

The purpose of the meeting was to review the progress of the laptop scheme and examine the details of the applications received at the regional level. On this occasion, important points like quota distribution, number of students, inclusion of universities, and ensuring transparency were discussed in detail. The committee emphasized that the entire process should be completely transparent, fair and merit-based so that the eligible students can be benefited in the true sense.
The meeting also considered launching a comprehensive media campaign around the laptop scheme celebrations to make more youth aware of this important initiative. The media campaign will be led by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, which will make full use of the media to effectively communicate the project to the public.
Dr. Khalid Maqbool announced on this occasion that the main inauguration ceremony of the laptop scheme will be held on July 25 at the Jinnah Convention Center, Islamabad. The ceremony will be attended by the Prime Minister, senior government officials, students, vice-chancellors of universities and other distinguished guests. He further said that after the inauguration ceremony, regional level ceremonies will also be held in different cities so that students from all areas can benefit from this scheme. The dates of these regional ceremonies will be announced soon.
