
To decrease the losses faced by the BRT project, this price change has been made because of increasing inflation, as per the statement of the Transport Department. This increase in fare will face controversies, especially from daily commuters that rely on the transport, even if it s supposed to make the finances of the system stable.

It is important to note that reports had stipulated a planned price increase that caused public condemnation; hence, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) was compelled to change its initial decision to raise electric and metro prices early this month.
The CDA proceeded with the increase after first rejecting it, although commuters and transport advocacy organizations strongly objected.
To the satisfaction of daily commuters in the capital, the CDA reversed the rate increase in response to increasing demand, returning the metro and electric bus ticket costs to their prior levels.
