"Following provincial directives, the Gabd-Kalato crossing has been sealed indefinitely. Citizens are urged to stay informed and contact local authorities for guidance," according to the statement from the office of the Gawadar deputy commissioner.
In a similar vein, the district administration of Panjgur said that all traffic on the Iranian border roads would be suspended, including the transportation of fuel. The main reason for the action, according to officials, was the possibility of instability in Iran and the surrounding area.
Pangur DC said that "the decision aims to prevent any unforeseen incidents due to international tensions," stressing how important it is for the public to cooperate during this time and the statement also called on citizens to not travel for no reason and to be alert.
These limitations are imposed at a time when Balochistani citizens are already dealing with gasoline shortages and growing worries about regional security, particularly in light of recent Iranian geopolitical developments.
