Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam has officially signed with the Sydney Sixers for the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL) season, becoming one of the highest-paid overseas players in the tournament’s history. This will mark Babar’s debut in the Australian T20 league, and his signing has been finalized through a pre-draft agreement exceeding the Platinum category base price.
Sources reveal that Babar s contract is valued close to PKR 10 crore, significantly higher than the standard Platinum base price of PKR 7.75 crore. Under BBL rules, franchises are allowed to pre-sign one international player ahead of the official BBL 15 draft, scheduled for June 19.
