The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched Pakistan’s first-ever Bug Bounty Challenge, marking a significant step toward strengthening the country’s cybersecurity framework. The competition, organized in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT), is designed to identify vulnerabilities and enhance the security of Pakistan’s national digital identity system.

The Bug Bounty Challenge invites students and cybersecurity experts to participate in various teams, where they will conduct analytical assessments, identify cybersecurity loopholes, and propose effective solutions. According to officials, the initiative not only encourages innovation and advanced technical skills among participants but also helps build citizens’ trust in Pakistan’s digital infrastructure.

At the regional level, the challenge will kick off on January 27 in multiple cities, including Sawabi, Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Quetta. Participants will compete to uncover potential vulnerabilities and contribute to safeguarding sensitive digital data. NADRA officials emphasized that the competition provides a platform for young cybersecurity talent to showcase their skills while contributing to national security.
