Major security operation ends with 10 militants dead and suicide bombers arrested in Balochistan

Security forces carried out intelligence-based operations over the past 48 hours in Balochistan’s Surab and Mastung districts, killing 10 militants, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The military said the operations targeted militants linked to Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij.

The ISPR said seven militants were killed in Surab, while three were killed in Mastung. During the operation in Mastung, security forces also arrested two female suicide bombers and a facilitator who were allegedly linked to Fitna al-Hindustan.

According to the military’s media wing, troops recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives from the militants during the operations. Clearance operations are still underway to ensure that no militants remain in the area.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces and said the fight against terrorism would continue until the threat is eliminated. He described the militants as enemies of Balochistan’s peace, development and prosperity, adding that the entire nation stands with the armed forces in this mission.

President Asif Ali Zardari also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continuing its campaign against terrorism. He said the country would remain determined to counter militant threats and maintain peace and stability.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the successful operations and praised the professionalism and bravery of the security forces. He called the officers and soldiers “the nation’s real heroes” and said the country was proud of their efforts against terrorism.

The ISPR said clearance operations will continue until all remaining militants are eliminated. The military also repeated its commitment to continuing operations against what it described as “foreign-sponsored terrorism.”
