Saudi Arabia announces new Umrah policy
The new Saudi Arabia Umrah policy aims to provide better, more organized, and higher-quality services for pilgrims. Under the new system, all Umrah arrangements will be managed through a single digital platform.
Saudi authorities said the updated Umrah visa new rules are designed to improve transparency, simplify travel procedures, and ensure pilgrims receive reliable services throughout their journey.
Food voucher now mandatory for Umrah visa
Under the revised Umrah visa requirements, hotel bookings and transport vouchers alone will no longer be enough to obtain a visa.
Saudi Arabia has made a food voucher mandatory for every applicant. Pilgrims must now include a food voucher worth at least 20 Saudi Riyals for each night of their stay as part of their Umrah visa documents.
Officials said this requirement has been introduced to ensure that visitors have access to proper meal arrangements during their stay.
Nusuk platform to manage all services
The Nusuk platform will be used to implement the new policy. Through the Nusuk platform, hotel bookings, transport, food voucher services, and other travel arrangements will be managed in one place.
During the first phase, the Saudi Arabia Umrah policy will apply to pilgrims traveling from Pakistan, India, Egypt, and Bangladesh.
Authorities believe the Nusuk platform will make the entire Umrah process easier and more efficient for visitors.
Thousands of restaurants join the system
To support the new policy, Saudi Arabia has connected nearly 10,000 restaurants in Makkah and Madinah to the Nusuk platform.
The move is intended to ensure that pilgrims receive safe, timely, and quality meals through the required food voucher system.
Companies given new responsibilities
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has also assigned clear responsibilities to Umrah companies, hotels, transport operators, and catering service providers.
Officials said every service provider will be responsible for ensuring pilgrims receive quality services from arrival until departure under the Saudi Arabia Umrah policy.
Saudi Arabia warns against violations
Saudi authorities recalled that several companies were blacklisted and fined last year for violating Umrah regulations.
Newly approved companies have now been integrated into the Nusuk platform to improve monitoring, transparency, and service quality under the latest Umrah visa new rules.
