(Web Desk): Eleven wanted members of the Muaaviya Chakrani gang surrendered to police with their weapons, marking a breakthrough in the fight against crime.

District Police Officer (DPO) Sadiq Baloch said on Wednesday that the gang members were wanted in several serious criminal cases, including murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and dacoity. Their surrender is being seen as an important success for law enforcement agencies working against criminal gangs in the region.

Deputy Commissioner Usman Khalid confirmed that the gang members handed over their weapons and accepted the law. He said they will now face all the cases against them in courts according to the legal process.

The deputy commissioner also said the government will support the surrendering gang members in becoming part of the national mainstream after they go through the legal process. Officials believe such efforts can help reduce crime and encourage others to leave criminal activities.

Earlier in April, another major development took place when notorious bandit Ahmed Bakhrani surrendered in Sadiqabad. According to DPO Irfan Ali Sammo, Ahmed Bakhrani had a government-announced bounty of Rs10,000,000 on his head.

Police officials said that 24 dangerous outlaws with government-announced head money have surrendered so far. The ongoing operations by Punjab Police, Sindh Police and other law enforcement agencies in the katcha areas have increased pressure on criminal gangs.

The katcha region, known for sheltering armed gangs and criminal groups, has remained a major challenge for law enforcement. During the continuing crackdown, several wanted bandits from Ghotki, Kashmore and Rahim Yar Khan have also surrendered.

The latest surrender shows that continuous police operations are putting increasing pressure on criminal gangs. If this trend continues, it could improve security in the katcha areas and encourage more wanted criminals to surrender instead of remaining on the run.
