Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of Defense Forces, held an important meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran.
The Iranian government shared pictures of the high-level meeting on the social media platform X, showing the significance of the engagement between the two sides.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi were also present during the discussions.
Earlier, Asim Munir visited Iran’s central Khatam al Anbiya Headquarters, where he was warmly received by Lieutenant General Abdollahi.

During this visit, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, focusing on security and regional cooperation.
As part of his official trip, Asim Munir also met Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament and head of the country’s negotiating team.
Ghalibaf said that Iran wants real and lasting peace not only for itself but for the entire region.
“I hope those who started the war and are now desperately seeking to stop it will truly end their past distrust-building behaviors through their actions and deeds,” he said.
He also pointed out that while Iran is committed to peace and stability, efforts are often affected by broken promises from the other side.

The meetings come at a time when tensions in the Middle East remain high and diplomatic efforts are ongoing to reduce conflict and bring stability.
