The Z-10ME, a modern combat helicopter developed by China, has now entered the Pakistan Army’s aviation fleet. Known for its high-tech systems and deadly accuracy, the Z-10ME is often compared to the American-made Apache. This two-engine attack helicopter is equipped with a WZ-9G engine producing nearly 1,200 kW, allowing strong performance in mountainous and high-temperature regions.

The Z-10ME carries a 23 mm chin-mounted cannon and supports up to 1,500 kg of weapons across four hardpoints, including HJ-10 anti-tank missiles, TY-90 air-to-air missiles, rocket pods, and even SW-6 drones that can launch mid-flight. It’s also fitted with millimeter-wave radar, night vision systems, infrared countermeasures, and missile warning sensors, offering advanced threat detection and all-weather operation.
Engine upgrades include upward-facing exhausts to reduce heat signature and sand filters for desert conditions. These features improve survivability in combat and harsh environments. Composite armor further protects vital areas of the aircraft.
Though official delivery numbers have not been disclosed, reports and social media images suggest these helicopters may replace older AH-1F Cobras. With precision strike abilities and modern defensive tools, the Z-10ME reflects Pakistan’s push to modernize its military with long-term, tech-driven upgrades.
