19 militants killed, 11 soldiers martyred in Balochistan operation
Pakistan's security forces killed 19 militants during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan, while 11 soldiers embraced martyrdom during the intense exchange of fire, according to security sources.
The operation was carried out after security agencies received credible intelligence about the presence of armed militants between Jhao Cross and Kararo on the N-25 highway. According to security sources, the militants had blocked the road and were allegedly extorting money from travellers and local residents.
Security personnel launched a swift operation against the suspected militants, leading to a fierce gun battle. Officials said 19 militants were killed, while several others were injured during the operation.
During the fighting, 11 members of the security forces lost their lives while carrying out the operation. The fallen personnel were praised for their bravery and sacrifice in the line of duty.
Security sources said the timely action prevented further harm to civilians and helped restore safety on the important highway. Authorities believe the operation disrupted militant activities in the area and sent a strong message against attacks targeting public security.
The military has reiterated its commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens and ensuring the security of national highways across Balochistan. Officials said operations against militant groups will continue until the threat is eliminated.
The latest operation comes amid ongoing efforts to strengthen security in Balochistan, where security forces regularly conduct intelligence-based operations against armed groups involved in violence and attacks on civilians and state institutions.
