SC orders transfer of Imran Khan to Shifa Hospital today
Court questions medical condition
Justice Shahid Waheed observed that the report mentioned an issue with his echocardiogram. It also referred to increased anxiety, while his heart rate and blood pressure were reportedly not normal.
The Islamabad advocate general told the court that doctors examine Imran Khan three times a day.
The judge questioned why health concerns were still being reported despite regular medical checks. He also asked whether doctors’ recommendations for more family meetings had been followed.

The development has put renewed focus on Imran Khan treatment arrangements and the medical care available to him.
Questions over family meetings
The judge said meetings with his sisters were not a favour but a basic right. The court also questioned why Islamabad High Court directions were not being followed.
Authorities told the court that Imran Khan’s sisters had met him 48 times over three years. The Supreme Court sought complete details of those meetings.

Children’s calls also under review
The lawyer also requested meetings for Uzma Khan and Dr Asim Yusuf and sought a complete medical examination at Shifa International Hospital.
Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan stressed that Imran Khan’s health should not become a political issue.
