(Web Desk): An anti-terrorism court approved bail for Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali in a case related to protest and alleged clash with police.

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has granted post-arrest bail to lawyer and activist Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali in a case involving alleged protest and a clash with police.

The hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Abualhasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain, who approved bail against surety bonds of Rs 10,000 each. The case pertains to accusations of fighting with police and participating in unlawful protest activities.

During the proceedings, defense counsel Riasat Ali Azad argued that the case was fabricated and baseless. He told the court that the first information report (FIR) appeared suddenly and that the accused were not even aware of its registration. The lawyer further claimed that he himself had been named in the case and insisted that the alleged incident never took place.

According to the defense, the FIR was registered over an imaginary and non-existent event, making the charges legally weak. The prosecution, however, maintained its stance regarding the registration of the case at Secretariat Police Station.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court announced its verdict and approved the bail applications.

The development comes amid ongoing legal battles involving activists and political workers, with courts increasingly scrutinizing the nature and strength of protest-related cases.
