LAHORE: (Suno News) The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the removal of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Chairman Lt-Gen Munir Afsar.
Justice Asim Hafeez of the LHC heard the petition of a citizen, Ashba Kamran, against the appointment of NADRA Chairman Munir Afsar.
The petition stated that the caretaker government had approved the appointment of a serving army officer by amending the NADRA Act, arguing that the caretaker government cannot interfere in permanent policy matters.
The petitioner requested the court to declare the amendment to the NADRA Act null and void. It also requested the court to nullify the appointment of the serving army officer as NADRA chairman.
In its judgement, the LHC ordered the removal of NADRA Chairman Lt-Gen Munir Afsar.
