Students e-bike scheme moves ahead as Punjab starts process
Schools asked to verify student records
The Punjab government has started the verification process for providing e-bikes to matric students. The School Education Department has sent the records of applicants to the heads of their respective schools.
School heads have been directed to immediately verify the details of students from grades 9 and 10. They must complete the verification within 24 hours and send the reports back to the School Education Department.
Who can qualify for e-bikes
Students aged between 16 and 18 years will be eligible for the e-bike scheme. Electric motorcycles will be provided only to students whose information is verified and who meet the eligibility requirements.
The scheme is aimed at supporting eligible male and female students across Punjab. The verification process will help authorities identify students who qualify for the facility.
Millions have applied for scheme
According to the School Education Department, millions of students across Punjab have already applied for the electric bike scheme. Their applications have now moved to the verification stage.
School authorities are checking the information submitted by applicants before the final selection. Only verified records will be considered for providing e-bikes under the scheme.
Distribution process to move forward
Officials have asked school heads to complete the verification process as quickly as possible. The move is expected to allow the government to proceed with the distribution of e-bikes to eligible students.
The verification of student records is an important step before the final distribution begins. Authorities are now waiting for schools to complete the required checks and submit their reports.
The verification process could help ensure that e-bikes reach students who meet the scheme’s requirements. Quick completion of the checks will allow the government to move closer to the actual distribution.
