ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Over 22,000 pilgrims have paid the second Hajj instalment under the government scheme, with Rs14.17 billion collected so far as the October 20 payment deadline approaches.

A total of 22,172 pilgrims have paid the second instalment of Hajj dues under the government scheme, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The ministry has collected Rs14.17 billion from pilgrims who have paid the second instalment so far.

The payments are part of the government’s arrangements for pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj under the official scheme. With the deadline approaching, pilgrims who have not yet paid the instalment have been advised to complete the process within the given timeframe.

Most pilgrims use online payment facility

The Ministry of Religious Affairs said many pilgrims are using digital options to pay their Hajj dues.

According to the ministry’s spokesperson, 12,743 pilgrims paid the second instalment through OneLink from their homes.

Another 1,089 pilgrims made their payments through bank cards.

Meanwhile, 8,340 pilgrims deposited the required amount through manual bank challans.

The figures show that online payment has become a major option for pilgrims completing their Hajj-related payments.

Digital Hajj Portal sees strong response

The ministry said more than 55% of the payments made so far were completed online from home through the Digital Hajj Portal. The growing use of digital payments allows pilgrims to complete the process without having to visit a bank physically.

The online facility is available through the National IT Board’s Hajj Portal, providing pilgrims with another way to complete their payment requirements. The ministry has encouraged pilgrims to follow the required process carefully and complete all necessary formalities before the deadline.

October 20 set as final payment deadline

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has set October 20 as the final deadline for government-scheme pilgrims to pay the second instalment of their Hajj dues. Pilgrims who have not yet made the payment will need to complete the process before the deadline to avoid problems with their Hajj arrangements.

The deadline is important for pilgrims because payment of the required instalment is part of the process for confirming their participation under the government scheme. Pilgrims are therefore advised not to wait until the final days to complete the payment.

A medical fitness certificate is also required

Payment of the second instalment is not the only requirement for pilgrims at this stage. The ministry has also instructed pilgrims to upload their medical fitness certificates to the Hajj Portal before paying the second instalment.

The requirement is part of the preparations for pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia for the religious journey. Pilgrims should ensure that their medical documents are complete and uploaded through the designated portal before proceeding with the payment process.

Multiple payment options available for pilgrims

The second Hajj instalment can be paid through several available channels. Pilgrims can use OneLink to make the payment digitally from home. They can also pay through bank cards or use manual bank challans.

These options are available through the National IT Board’s Hajj Portal, giving pilgrims different ways to complete their payments. The availability of multiple payment methods is intended to make the process easier for pilgrims across the country.

What pilgrims need to do now

Pilgrims who have already paid the second instalment should ensure that their payment has been properly recorded through the designated system. Those who have not yet paid should complete the process before October 20.

They should also make sure that their medical fitness certificates have been uploaded to the Hajj Portal as required. Checking payment details and uploaded documents in advance can help pilgrims avoid last-minute problems.

Why the payment figures matter

The payment figures show that thousands of pilgrims have already completed an important stage of their Hajj preparations. The collection of Rs14.17 billion also reflects the scale of the government scheme and the large number of pilgrims preparing to perform Hajj through it.

The fact that more than half of the payments were made online also points to a growing reliance on digital services for Hajj-related procedures. As the deadline approaches, more pilgrims are expected to complete their payments through the available channels.
