ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has launched Pakistan’s first National Youth Employment Policy, offering new opportunities in jobs, startups and technology.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the National Youth Employment Policy to create more opportunities for young people across the country.

The policy was announced during a ceremony in Islamabad. It focuses on employment, education, entrepreneurship and modern technology.

Under the Pakistan youth employment plan, women will have a 35% quota in the labour force. The government has also announced a 10% quota to support young people interested in starting their own businesses.

Focus on youth jobs and startups

The government says the policy will help address the growing demand for youth jobs Pakistan by giving young people more options to build their careers.

Instead of depending only on traditional employment, young people will also be encouraged to establish their own businesses.

The plan includes youth startup funding to help aspiring entrepreneurs turn their ideas into businesses. The government hopes this approach will create jobs as well as support young business owners.

The Pakistan youth employment strategy is therefore focused not only on finding jobs but also on creating new employment opportunities.

Thousands of students to receive technology support

The government will also expand its education and technology programmes.

The initiative is designed to give students better access to digital education and modern skills.

The government also plans to send 1,000 students to China for IT and artificial intelligence training. The students will be selected on merit and sent at government expense.

Women receive special employment quota

A major part of the women employment quota is the decision to reserve 35% of the labour force for women.

The move is aimed at increasing women's participation in the workforce and giving more women access to employment opportunities.

The National Youth Employment Policy also places emphasis on equal access to education and professional development.

The prime minister said talented young people should be given opportunities regardless of their financial background.

New university planned in Islamabad

The government also announced that Danish University in Islamabad is expected to start classes next year.

The university will focus on technical education, modern sciences and other advanced fields. Admissions will be based on merit.

The government is also expanding Danish Schools to other regions to provide quality education to students from less privileged families.
