Pakistan launches first National Youth Employment Policy with major opportunities
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the National Youth Employment Policy to create more opportunities for young people across the country.
The policy was announced during a ceremony in Islamabad. It focuses on employment, education, entrepreneurship and modern technology.
Under the Pakistan youth employment plan, women will have a 35% quota in the labour force. The government has also announced a 10% quota to support young people interested in starting their own businesses.
Focus on youth jobs and startups
The government says the policy will help address the growing demand for youth jobs Pakistan by giving young people more options to build their careers.
Instead of depending only on traditional employment, young people will also be encouraged to establish their own businesses.
The plan includes youth startup funding to help aspiring entrepreneurs turn their ideas into businesses. The government hopes this approach will create jobs as well as support young business owners.
The Pakistan youth employment strategy is therefore focused not only on finding jobs but also on creating new employment opportunities.
