KP CM complaint cell resolves 3,607 complaints in eight months
The complaints were received between January 1 and August 31, according to figures shared by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
The cell received more than 14 complaints each day on average during the period. Land disputes and education-related matters were among the most common issues raised by citizens.
Officials reviewed the performance of the complaint cell during a meeting and discussed how different departments handled cases sent to them for action.
Thousands of complaints sent to departments
The review found that 499 complaints were resolved directly at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
Another 498 cases were declared non-actionable because of jurisdictional restrictions or legal complications.
Most complaints were sent to the relevant provincial departments for further action. A total of 2,610 cases were referred to departments for necessary steps.
Of these cases, relief was provided in 988 complaints. Partial relief was given in 11 cases, while action on another 781 complaints was still continuing.
Officials also found 774 complaints to be non-actionable because they did not meet the required merit or eligibility conditions.
The figures show that the complaint cell has become an important channel for people seeking government help with everyday problems.
Citizens use several ways to file complaints
People used several methods to contact the complaint cell during the eight months.
A total of 1,090 complaints were submitted manually, making it the largest category among the available methods.
WhatsApp was the second most-used channel, with 1,047 complaints submitted through the messaging platform.
Another 687 complaints were sent through email. Citizens also used phone calls, Facebook and X to report their problems.
There were 343 complaints through phone calls, while 273 were submitted through Facebook. Another 111 complaints were received through X.
The variety of channels means citizens can approach the government without relying on only one method.
It also gives the administration several ways to receive complaints from people who may not be able to visit government offices personally.

Land and education complaints remain major issues
Land disputes and education-related matters were identified as major categories among the complaints received by the cell.
Land-related disputes can often involve complicated ownership questions, legal proceedings and jurisdiction issues. This can make some complaints difficult to resolve directly through the provincial administration.
Education complaints can cover a range of issues affecting students, teachers and institutions. The figures indicate that citizens continue to use the complaint system when they believe their concerns require government attention.
The administration has referred many such cases to the departments responsible for dealing with them.
The number of cases receiving relief also suggests that some complaints were successfully addressed after being forwarded to the relevant authorities.
CM says public satisfaction will measure performance
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said the provincial government should be judged by the experience and satisfaction of citizens.
He said government performance should not be measured simply by the number of meetings held or presentations delivered by officials.
Instead, he stressed the importance of resolving public complaints and involving citizens in governance.
According to the chief minister, effective grievance handling is an important part of the government’s approach to public service.
He also linked the initiative to the vision of PTI founder Imran Khan, saying the provincial government was working to promote public participation through practical measures and institutional systems.
Afridi said the future of both the provincial government and the bureaucracy was closely tied to public satisfaction.
He added that resolving citizens’ problems on time would be an important measure of how effectively the government performs.
