ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The government has announced a new Balochistan youth employment plan targeting 25,000 young people from 12 districts.

First Phase to Support Thousands of Young People

Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, announced the initiative. He said the first phase would help between 6,000 and 7,000 young people find jobs.

The plan aims to connect young people with work opportunities and help them become part of the country’s economy.

The government says cooperation between public institutions and private businesses will be important for the programme.

The jobs for 25,000 youth initiative focuses on young people identified in 12 districts of Balochistan.

However, details about the selection process, participating employers and the timeline for providing jobs have not yet been shared in the announcement.

Karachi Business Community Asked to Help

Rana Mashhood appealed to Karachi’s industrialists and business community to support the initiative. He urged businesses to help reduce unemployment in Balochistan, increase economic activity and support long-term peace and prosperity.

He said private companies could contribute by offering jobs, technical training and practical work experience. These opportunities could help young people develop skills and prepare for employment.

The Balochistan youth employment plan will require support from businesses that can offer suitable positions and training opportunities. Cooperation between the government and industry could help connect job seekers with employers.

Industrial Growth Seen as Key to More Jobs

Business representatives Zubair Motiwala and Javed Bilwani also stressed the need to increase employment opportunities.

They highlighted the importance of restoring industrial activity, attracting new investment and improving the competitiveness of local industries.

They said factory closures and falling exports were contributing to unemployment. According to them, strengthening the industrial sector is necessary to create jobs and support economic growth.

The jobs for 25,000 youth plan comes at a time when business activity and investment are important concerns for employment. More active industries could provide opportunities for young people entering the job market.

Public-Private Partnership Remains Important

The government is encouraging businesses to offer employment, technical training and practical experience to young people. The first phase aims to support 6,000 to 7,000 candidates, while the wider target is 25,000.

The Balochistan youth employment initiative could help young people gain work experience and improve their chances of finding long-term jobs.

Its progress will depend on the number of businesses that participate and the positions they can offer.
