CM Afridi launches “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Open Wi-Fi” project
A Rs500 Million Digital Push
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government approved the free Wi-Fi initiative at an estimated cost of Rs500 million, aiming to expand digital connectivity and provide easier internet access to citizens.
Under the project, free internet facilities are being introduced at key public locations across the provincial capital, allowing students, professionals, and visitors to access online services and digital resources.

The project is expected to benefit students, freelancers, businesses, and the general public by providing affordable connectivity in major areas of Peshawar.

The Open Wi-Fi launch follows a series of infrastructure and public-service projects CM Afridi has inaugurated across the province in recent months, including the Peshawar Ring Road's northern section, a new Legal Aid Agency for underprivileged citizens, and multiple health and education schemes under the Peshawar Revitalization Plan.
