The session will be held at Parliament House, where the bill—presented in the Lower House a day earlier—will be put to vote.
According to parliamentary sources, 224 votes are required to pass the amendment, while the government currently has the support of 237 members.
Earlier on Monday, the Senate passed the amendment with a two-thirds majority, as two members from the PTI and JUI-F voted in favour of the bill against their party lines.
The assembly proceedings on Tuesday were disrupted by opposition protests, prompting Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to adjourn the session without a vote. The sitting was rescheduled for today.

While moving the motion, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said that the suo motu powers of the Supreme Court had previously become a “monster,” and that clearer boundaries would make the judicial process more transparent.
In contrast, PTI’s Barrister Gohar Ali Khan termed the amendment a threat to the basic structure of democracy, while JUI-F’s Shahida Akhtar Ali objected that several clauses were added without public consultation.
If passed by the National Assembly, the bill will be sent to the Prime Minister for signature and then forwarded to the President for final assent.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari is hosting a dinner at Aiwan-e-Sadr tonight for parliamentarians from all parties, where discussions on the amendment are expected to take place.
