The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) highlighted that many individuals have registered their marriages with Union Councils but have yet to update their details in the NADRA database.
NADRA emphasized that citizens should visit NADRA centers at their earliest convenience to ensure their marital status is recorded accurately. This initiative is part of NADRA’s ongoing effort to maintain up-to-date and accurate citizen data.

To assist citizens, NADRA has also launched an SMS service to notify married individuals about the update requirement. Further guidance can be obtained via NADRA’s helplines: 1777 (mobile users) or 051-111-786-100, or by visiting www.nadra.gov.pk .
A fee of Rs100 applies for updating marital status on a CNIC, categorized as an “unprintable alteration.” Applicants must submit relevant documents, such as a marriage certificate or Nikahnama, depending on their case.
