The University of London, Brunel University, the University of Gloucestershire, and the University of Leicester have all officially signaled their interest in opening branch campuses in Punjab, said officials.
Besides these UK-based institutions, one of the top Kazakh universities has also signed up to open operations in the province. South Korea, on its part, is coming forward with proposals to open a Korean University campus in Lahore. To further enhance scholarly collaborations, the Korean government will also establish a free Korean language learning center in Punjab, creating new opportunities for students keen to carve out international careers.
The officials stated that the opening of these institutions will greatly enhance access to quality education at students doorstep, offering them international curricula, up-to-date facilities, and access to global standards of education. "This move will not only raise the learning opportunities but also establish Punjab as a hub of educational purposes for the whole region," a representative of the education department stated.

The space for these institutions has already been provided by the provincial government in the planned Knowledge City. Special Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are also in the final stages to ensure smooth functioning for the foreign universities.
Experts think this landmark event will draw foreign students, enhance academic cooperation, and impart knowledge to local youth that is in line with global markets, paving the way for Punjab s education excellence and global recognition.
