The laptops will be provided to students across various fields, including computer science, medicine, engineering, social sciences, business, and agriculture.
According to details, 20,000 laptops will be disturbed among university students. 14,000 laptops will be distributed among college students. The 4,000 students from technical and agricultural institutes will get laptops.
Unlike previous years, the 2025 scheme will not use an online registration platform. Instead, eligible students’ data will be collected through their educational institutions. Here s the process for students to ensure they are considered:
1) Educational institutions will collect data on eligible students based on their academic performance.
2) The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Punjab will validate the data and release the final list of selected students.
3) Laptop distribution will begin after Ramadan 2025, with distribution events hosted by the Chief Minister at various locations.
Registration is expected to start in February 2025, with laptop distribution likely to begin in April or May 2025.
For students wishing to register can access the official portal. The registration process involves creating an account, completing a profile, uploading necessary documents (such as academic transcripts, CNIC/B-form, domicile, and passport-sized photographs), and submitting the application before the deadline. Applicants can track their application status through the portal.
Registration will open in February 2025 and close in September 2025. Students are advised to register early to avoid any last-minute complications.
