
A total of 91,589 students appeared in the exams, according to official documents.
Out of the total candidates, 76,484 students passed the exams, while 14,530 were declared unsuccessful. The overall pass percentage remained at 83.5%.
Meanwhile, in the 9th-grade exams, a total of 101,888 students appeared, with 61,753 students passing, showing a remarkable pass rate of 98.8%. However, 38,907 students failed in one or more subjects but were promoted to the 10th grade under the existing promotion policy.
According to the statistics, 35,017 girls appeared for the 9th-grade exams and 31,722 for the matric exams.

Speaking at the result announcement ceremony, Provincial Education Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai congratulated the Peshawar board, teachers, parents, and students on the successful conduct of the exams. He also expressed gratitude to district administrations, media personnel, and security staff for their support during the exam process.
He informed that over 300 examination centers were established across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the matriculation exams. He acknowledged that students from government schools secured top positions in Swat and Abbottabad boards, reflecting improvement in public education.
The minister admitted to a shortage of exam centers in the newly merged tribal districts and pledged to scale up examination halls in future exams.
He further announced that Rs. 364 billion have been allocated for the education sector, emphasizing that education and healthcare remain top government priorities. Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) have also been signed with Cambridge University to enhance educational quality. The minister also announced cash prizes for students who secured top positions.
