(Web Desk): Punjab denies viral notification about April school closures, calls it fake and misleading.

The Punjab School Education Department has strongly denied a viral notification claiming that all schools in the province will remain closed from April 6 to April 25, 2026, due to rising petrol prices.

The clarification came after the alleged notification began circulating widely on social media, causing concern among parents, students, and school administrations. Authorities confirmed that no such decision has been taken and labeled the document as completely fabricated.

A spokesperson for Punjab Education Minister Noor Ul Huda stated that the fake notification has no official backing and urged the public to rely only on verified government sources for updates. He emphasized that misinformation can create unnecessary panic and disrupt academic activities.

Officials also warned citizens against sharing unverified content online, noting that such actions can lead to confusion and misinformation spreading rapidly. Parents and students have been advised to check official announcements before believing or forwarding any news related to school schedules.

The department reiterated that any changes in school timings or holidays will be officially announced through proper government channels. At present, all schools across Punjab will continue to operate as per their regular schedule.

This incident highlights the growing challenge of fake news on social media and the importance of verifying information before sharing it.
