(Web Desk): Punjab University has opened registration for its second admission test for the 2026–27 session - another chance to improve their scores.

The second Undergraduate Admission Test by the University of the Punjab offers fresh opportunities for students seeking admission to various undergraduate degree programmes.

Students can complete their online registration until 3 July 2026, while the university has tentatively scheduled the test for 19 July 2026. The admission test is mandatory for all candidates applying to undergraduate programmes.

Why this second test matters

The new test cycle is especially helpful for students who missed the first admission test held on 14 June 2026. It also allows candidates who already appeared in the first test to improve their performance.

The university has confirmed that applicants can take the test again, and the higher score will be considered during merit calculation. This policy gives students an additional opportunity to strengthen their chances of securing admission.

Admission test weightage

The admission test carries 25 percent weightage in the overall merit formula. Students who qualify will become eligible to apply once the university officially announces undergraduate admissions.

Seven admission test categories

Punjab University will conduct the test under seven categories based on students’ previous academic backgrounds.

1.     Pre-Engineering (PU-E)

2.     Pre-Medical (PU-M)

3.     Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (PU-AHS)

4.     ICS with Physics Combination (PU-CSP)

5.     ICS with Statistics Combination (PU-CSS)

6.     General Science (PU-GS) and

7.     Commerce (PU-COM)

Applicants must select the category that matches their previous studies and intended degree programme.

Registration fee details

The registration fee for the admission test is Rs2,500. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Candidates must download the fee challan from the university’s admission portal and deposit the amount through designated branches of HBL or UBL. Students can also pay through mobile banking using 1Bill services.

Proof of payment must be uploaded to complete the registration process successfully.
