Punjab schools reopen after summer break
Both public and private schools have resumed regular academic activities as students return after the long holidays. The reopening has brought renewed activity to schools, with teachers welcoming students and preparing them for the new academic phase.
Students return to classrooms
Students returned to their schools with enthusiasm after spending weeks away from classrooms.
School corridors, courtyards and classrooms once again became busy as children met their teachers and classmates. Teachers welcomed students and encouraged them to begin the new academic phase with focus and energy.
At several schools, chocolates were also distributed among children to mark their return. The welcoming activities helped create a positive atmosphere as students settled back into their daily routines.
Parents welcome return to school
Parents also expressed happiness over the reopening of schools after the summer holidays. Many parents hope the new academic phase will help children continue their studies with greater focus and achieve better results.
The return to school also brings back regular routines for families after the extended break. For students, the reopening means returning to classroom learning, completing assignments and taking part in academic activities.
Punjab sets school timings
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said school timings had been fixed across the province from Monday to Friday.
According to the announced schedule, schools will operate from 8am to 1:30pm. Educational institutions have been directed to arrange their daily schedules according to the timings specified in the official notification.
The fixed timings are expected to provide a uniform schedule for schools across Punjab. Parents and students will now be able to plan their daily routines around the new school hours.

Rana Sikandar Hayat welcomed students back to schools and said the learning process would continue with renewed energy. He urged teachers to play their role in restoring educational continuity for children whose studies may have been affected during the holidays.

The minister stressed the importance of helping students adjust to regular classroom learning. Teachers will also play an important role in identifying students who may need additional academic support after the break.
Out-of-school children remain a major challenge
The education minister said preventing an increase in the number of out-of-school children remained a major challenge. He said bringing every child into the education system was a shared responsibility.
The issue is particularly important because disruptions in education can make it difficult for some children to return to classrooms. The government wants schools, teachers, parents and other stakeholders to work together to encourage children to continue their education.
New strategy being considered
Rana Sikandar Hayat said consultations were underway to develop a new strategy to prevent educational losses in the future. The proposed strategy is expected to focus on reducing interruptions in education and helping children remain connected to schools.
Further consultations could determine what measures are introduced to protect students from learning gaps. The focus on continuity also highlights the importance of ensuring that children do not fall behind because of disruptions to their education.
A fresh academic phase begins
The reopening of schools marks the start of another phase in the academic journey of students across Punjab. For teachers, the focus will now shift towards classroom teaching and helping students regain their academic momentum.
For parents, the return of schools brings back a structured daily routine and renewed focus on their children’s education. The coming weeks will be important for schools as students adjust to regular classes and teachers assess their academic needs.
