Punjab orders action against unregistered schools after Lahore incidents
The Lahore District Education Authority (DEA) said the affected unregistered schools were issued several notices and given enough time to meet legal requirements.
However, after they failed to register before the deadline, officials decided to begin legal action.
As part of the operation, the district administration has been asked to assist in sealing the unregistered schools.
Officials said the campaign is aimed at ensuring all private educational institutions comply with Punjab’s education laws and safety regulations.
The ongoing drive against Punjab unregistered schools has also been expanded through a city-wide survey of both registered and unregistered institutions.
Authorities have extended the survey deadline to collect updated information about schools operating across Lahore.
CEO District Education Authority Tariq Mahmood said the survey is expected to be completed soon.
The updated data will help officials identify more Punjab unregistered schools and take action against those operating without legal approval.
According to official figures, more than 744 private schools have already received registration notices during the campaign.

Officials said legal proceedings will continue until every Punjab unregistered schools case is resolved and all institutions meet provincial regulations.
Authorities said the purpose of the crackdown is to improve oversight of private schools, strengthen student safety, and ensure quality education.
School owners have been urged to complete the registration process immediately to avoid closure.
The Punjab government has made it clear that schools operating without registration will not be allowed to continue.
Officials believe stricter enforcement will create a safer and more transparent education system for students and parents.
