(Web Desk): Punjab links over thirty thousand schools to Safe Cities Authority, launching Virtual Center for Educational Security to ensure student and staff safety.

Punjab has connected over 30,000 schools and colleges to the Safe City system, establishing a Virtual Center for Educational Security to ensure student and staff safety. Staff will update the security status three times daily via the Public Safety App, enabling real-time monitoring and immediate alerts in emergencies.

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has implemented this initiative across all public and private educational institutions, registering over 130,000 teachers and security staff into the system. The move ensures that school and college security can now be checked with a single click, enhancing the ability to respond quickly to threats or emergencies.

Under the program, institutions’ security cameras are being integrated with the Safe City system for live monitoring, and panic buttons are being installed across campuses. The Public Safety App requires educational staff to regularly update the safety status of their institutions. In case of a risk or unsafe status, alerts are automatically sent to law enforcement for immediate action.

Officials believe the Virtual Center for Educational Security will not only strengthen campus safety but also assist in investigations of incidents, making Punjab’s educational environment more secure and resilient. This initiative represents a major step toward foolproof security in schools and colleges, ensuring students and staff are protected across the province.
