Punjab lifts summer transfer restrictions for teachers in schools
The decision has brought relief to thousands of teachers waiting for postings or adjustments across the province.
According to official instructions, teachers who are awaiting posting after promotion, those in post-waiting positions, and applicants seeking mutual transfers will now be eligible to apply in this round.
The department stated that the process will begin after June 18 and will be handled through the updated system.
The School Education Department Punjab has directed all Chief Executive Officers (Education) in districts across Punjab to immediately update and tag the records of promoted teachers in the School Information System (SIS).
This step is necessary to ensure that eligible teachers are properly included in the transfer round without errors or delays.

Officials further explained that SIS tagging has been made mandatory for participation in the process. Any delay or failure in updating records could affect a teacher’s eligibility and create complications during the transfer cycle.
District education authorities have also been instructed to complete all updates without delay.
The department has emphasized that this initiative aims to make Punjab teacher transfers more transparent, organized, and efficient during the summer break, ensuring fair opportunities for all eligible educators.
