(Web Desk): The Punjab School Education Department has granted permission to public and private schools across the province to organize summer camps during the summer vacation period.

According to an official notification, the camps will be held from June 1 to June 30, aiming to provide students with opportunities for academic engagement and skill development during the break.

As per the guidelines issued by the department, summer camps may only operate from Monday to Thursday between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. No camp activities will be allowed on Fridays. Authorities stated that students from all grade levels will be eligible to participate; however, attendance will remain voluntary, and parental consent will be mandatory.

The department has also made it clear that private schools are not permitted to charge any additional fees under the pretext of summer camp activities. The directive emphasizes that all educational and extracurricular activities must take place in classrooms or other indoor facilities to ensure student safety amid the ongoing hot weather conditions.

School administrations have been instructed to provide essential facilities, including access to cold drinking water, proper sanitation, functioning fans, and backup electricity arrangements. Officials stressed that maintaining a safe and comfortable learning environment for students must remain a top priority throughout the camp period.

In addition, students attending the camps will not be required to wear school uniforms. Instead, they may dress in weather-appropriate and comfortable clothing. The Punjab School Education Department warned that strict legal action will be taken against any institution found violating the government’s directives or operational guidelines regarding the summer camps.
