PMS exam rescheduled, written tests to be held in December, January
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) announced the revised schedule for Provincial Management Service (PMS) Officer BPS-17 posts under Advertisement No. 01/2026, Serial No. 01.
KP PMS compulsory papers to begin on December 30
The compulsory examinations will start with English Essay on December 30, followed by English Precis and Composition on December 31. General Knowledge papers will cover Everyday Science on January 1, 2027, and Current Affairs on January 2.
Pakistan Affairs will be held on January 4, while Islamiat is scheduled for January 5. All compulsory papers will take place in the morning session from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.
Optional papers scheduled until January 16
The optional subject examinations will begin on January 6 and continue until January 16, 2027. Candidates will sit their selected papers in two sessions, according to the revised timetable.
The morning session will run from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, while the evening session will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Candidates should check the dates of their chosen subjects carefully to avoid missing any examination.
KPPSC advises candidates to check official updates
The commission had earlier postponed the PMS written examinations scheduled for October 14 to 31, 2026. The newly announced timetable gives candidates a revised period to prepare for their compulsory and optional papers.
Candidates should follow official KPPSC announcements for information about examination centres, roll number slips and further instructions. They should also confirm their individual paper dates before the examinations begin.
Punjab increases PMS age limit and attempts
Separately, the Punjab government has increased the upper age limit and the number of attempts allowed for candidates appearing in the PMS examination. According to a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), the maximum age has risen from 30 to 32 years.
The number of permitted attempts has also increased from three to four. These changes apply to Punjab’s PMS examination and are separate from the revised KP PMS examination schedule.
The revised KP PMS schedule gives candidates more time to prepare after the earlier postponement. Applicants should organise their study plans according to the dates of their compulsory and optional papers.
Punjab’s changes to the age limit and number of attempts may also provide more opportunities for eligible candidates there. However, KP PMS applicants should follow KPPSC rules and official announcements for their own examination.
