Pakistani Deaf student makes history with prestigious US university scholarship
Khan will join the MA Deaf Studies programme at the prestigious US university during the Fall 2026 semester.

Education journey faced financial difficulties
Khan’s educational journey has not been easy. Financial difficulties prevented him from continuing his studies after he completed matriculation in 2014.
Instead of giving up, he entered the workforce and continued building his professional experience.
He later worked at BankIslami and also became involved in activities focused on supporting Deaf young people in Pakistan.
Khan served as Secretary of the Pakistan Association of Deaf Youth (PADY). Through this role, he worked to promote the development, empowerment and opportunities of Deaf youth.
His professional and community work helped him remain connected with issues affecting Deaf people while continuing to pursue his educational goals.
The scholarship now allows him to take the next major step in his academic journey.
Scholarship opens new opportunities
Through the World Deaf Leadership Scholarship, Khan will study Deaf Studies at Gallaudet University.
