Karachi board announces first-year results 2026
The Karachi Board first-year result 2026 introduces a new passing requirement. Students must secure at least 40% marks in each subject to pass. Those who score below this limit will be declared ungraded in the relevant paper.
New Grading System Sets a 40% Minimum
Under the Karachi Board new grading system, students must meet the minimum marks in every subject. The policy covers pre-medical, general science, commerce, arts, special candidates and home economics groups.
The board also used Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) and electronic marking systems to assess optional subjects in science groups.
Students checking the BIEK results 2026 should carefully review their marks in every paper. The new rule means that a student who scores below 40% in a subject may not pass that particular paper, even if their performance in other subjects is better.
Pre-Medical and General Science Results
In pre-medical, 24,544 students appeared in the examinations, and 11,966 passed all six papers.
The general science group recorded 15,036 students who passed all six papers out of 30,386 candidates who appeared.
These figures form an important part of the Karachi intermediate results for this year. Students should check their individual results to understand whether they have passed all required subjects.

In the arts group, 3,748 regular candidates and 692 private candidates passed all six papers. Meanwhile, 58 special candidates in the regular arts group also passed all six papers.
The Karachi Board first-year result 2026 includes candidates from all these groups, allowing students to check their performance according to their respective programmes.
Home Economics Results
In home economics, 41 out of 141 students who appeared passed all seven papers.
The BIEK results 2026 highlight the importance of meeting the minimum passing requirement in each subject. Students who fall below the required marks should review their result details and look for official guidance on any available next steps.
The Karachi Board new grading system is a major change for first-year candidates. Students should rely on official board announcements for accurate information about their grades and examination procedures.
