The revised requirement has been published on Universitaly Portal, the official platform managed by Italy’s Ministry of University and Research. The new rules will be applicable for the academic years 2026–2027 and 2027–2028.

New Financial Requirement: What Has Changed?

Under the updated guidelines, international students must demonstrate sufficient financial means to support their stay in Italy. The required amount is now:

€10,179.85 annually (approx. PKR 3.2 million)

This marks a significant increase from the previously referenced requirement of around €6,000, making financial preparation more demanding for applicants.

For Pakistani students, this change means submitting stronger bank statements and financial documentation when applying for an Italy study visa.

Funds Must Be Legal, Traceable, and Verifiable

Italian authorities have emphasized strict scrutiny of financial documents. According to the official circular:

Funds must come from lawful and traceable sources
Money should preferably be in the student’s personal bank account
Alternatively, funds can be provided by family members up to the fourth degree
