Students who applied for the Prime Minister Youth Laptop Scheme have received welcome news as the distribution of laptops has formally begun across universities in Pakistan.
Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, Dr Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, announced on social media platform X that laptops under the government-backed initiative have reached respective universities. He confirmed that the distribution process is now underway in institutions nationwide.
According to the HEC chairman, students who submitted applications under the scheme can now visit their universities to collect their laptops. He advised applicants to contact the designated focal person at their institution and complete the required documentation to receive their device. A proper mechanism has been put in place to ensure transparency and smooth distribution so that deserving students receive laptops without delay.
Dr Akhtar congratulated students and described the initiative as a major step towards equipping youth with modern technology. He said access to laptops will enhance online research, digital learning, assignment preparation, and the use of advanced software tools.
