FPSC reschedules CSS 2027 MPT, new test date announced
The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced a new date for the MCQ-Based Preliminary Test (MPT) of the CSS Competitive Examination 2027.
According to a public notice issued on August 19, 2026, the examination will now be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
The test was previously scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2026.
Why was the exam postponed?
The FPSC said the examination was rescheduled following the announcement of a protest planned for September 27.
The decision has been taken to facilitate CSS candidates and ensure the test is conducted in a smooth and orderly manner without disruptions.
Candidates preparing for the competitive examination have therefore been advised to note the revised date and make their arrangements accordingly.
Other conditions remain unchanged
The commission clarified that only the examination date has been changed.
All other terms, conditions and requirements related to the CSS 2027 MPT will remain unchanged.
Candidates are not required to follow any new eligibility criteria or examination rules because of the rescheduling.
Candidates urged to check updates
The CSS examination is one of Pakistan’s major competitive examinations and attracts a large number of candidates seeking positions in the federal civil services.
With the new schedule, candidates will get additional time to prepare for the preliminary test.
Applicants should continue their preparation according to the existing syllabus and keep checking official FPSC notices for any further updates regarding the examination.
The revised date means candidates will now appear for the CSS 2027 MPT nearly two weeks later than originally planned.
